Karnataka Govt. to assist for setting up community radio stations

The Karnataka State Government will assist to set up 12 community radio stations to empower rural people through the medium of radio.

While speaking at the workshop organized by the Information Department of the state, K.V.R. Tagore, Commissioner, three stations would be started in the each of the districts of Bangalore, Mysore, Belgaum and Gulbarga. The government will provide only minimal assistance in form of funds, technical expertise, infrastructure and content programming.
