Conference Presentation
Day 2, February 7, 2007 (4:30pm-6pm)
Noise at the Last Mile: Smart Village, Sarvodaya – Session Chair: Prof VK Samaranayake (Chairman ICTA, Sri Lanka)
The original contribution to the funding and presentations comes from an important project, the Virtual Village project, which has a multiple ownership. This project hosted by Sarvodaya, but strongly partnered by three other key organizations, viz., University of Colombo, University of Peradeniya and Centre for Women’s Research - the leading women’s research NGO in Sri Lanka. This is funded by Pan Asia programme of IDRC. D.Net is another important partner from Bangladesh, brokered by both Pan Asia & tc.org of IDRC, allowing for research and lateral learning from two neighbouring countries to take firm grounds, to showcase the fruits of networking and partnership building.

Five research papers would be presented during 1.30 minute allotted time. A short video will also be shown.
